How sad!

If you’re like us, then you’re probably still coping with the recent news that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have decided to split up. Whomp, whomp.

But when you’re an A-list couple THIS powerful — breaking up is so much more than just who keeps the wedding china.

As the former flames head into mediation for their divorce, they’ll have to take a stab at dividing their assets as well.

One source shared:

“This should not be an ugly divorce.”

Well that’s good to hear. But just how much is actually being brought to the table?!

The duo have earned millions of dollars during their 10 year marriage — with an estimated net worth of $115 million. Whoa!

It’s reported that the Oscar winner made nearly $35 million last year alone. Though, the Alias actress’ paychecks are relatively smaller — she’s still done lucrative commercials for big companies like Neutrogena and Capital One.

Hmm, very inneresting!

The couple currently live in a 8,800-square-foot home with their three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel that they purchased from producer Brian Grazer in 2009 for $17.5 million. There’s an additional property Savannah, Georgia that the Argo director purchased in 2003.

So who gets what?

One expert explained:

“The house they bought together while married, that would likely be considered community property. But if there is a home that was purchased by one of them while single, that may be his or her own, separate property, which would not be split up.”

That makes sense!

Reportedly, the length of the Hollywood powerhouse’s marriage could also be a major factor in the divorce process.

It’s said that a judge’s opinion on spousal support can change if a couple’s been together for 10+ years. Apparently, judges are more willing to award lifetime spousal support for long term couples divorcing. Good to know.

However, with Jennifer being a successful actress herself, she might not get that particular deal.

Nonetheless, California’s a no-fault state which means courts typically enforce a 50-50 division of assets — regardless of who earned more money or spent the most during the marriage.

Well that’s good news for the mother-of-three! We hope for Bennifer 2.0’s sake they pull a Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have a pain free divorce.

Fingers crossed.
