It’s been 22 years since Bruce Campbell has valiantly fought against the deadites — and now he’s back playing the ever-groovy character Ash!
The 57-year-old is set to star in Starz‘s revival of the Evil Dead franchise this fall in Ash vs Evil Dead!
The 10 episode resurrection picks up with Ash, still a stock boy, who once again accidentally unleashes the evil dead upon the world! Ash enlists the help of his Value Stop co-workers Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana Delorenzo) to defeat the evil dead (above)!
Campbell reveals that Ash hasn’t been up to too much over the past two decades, explaining:
“He was perfectly happy doing basically nothing: telling lies about how he lost his hand in bars late at night. That was basically his MO. So, he’s not really the guy who should be dealing with this right now. But├óΓé¼┬ªhe is. He’s our guy!”
Sam Raimi, who directed the films along with the series’s first episode, explained that Ash wouldn’t go easy on the deadites, saying:
“He’s the only one stupid enough to really tamper with those spirits and he does. But he’s also still a really good monster fighter. So, he’s also going to be kicking some deadite buttocks, if you’ll pardon the French.”
We can’t wait to see all the deadite buttocks being kicked when Ash vs Evil Dead premieres this fall!
