Are you really that surprised?

The two newbies in theaters this weekend, Magic Mike XXL starring Channing Tatum and Terminator Genisys starring Arnold Schwarzenegger both ended up getting left in the dust by the both Jurassic World — which was in its fourth weekend — and Inside Out — which had its third weekend in theaters.

Jurassic World stayed on top this past holiday weekend by raking in $30.9 million to claim the top spot with Inside Out trailing right on its heels with $30.1 million! Though the numbers and places change a bit if you take the 5 day holiday weekend into consideration.

With the final take this weekend, the dino-pic is looking at a domestic total of $558.2 million — which surpasses The Dark Knight for the fourth best total of all time!

Magic Mike XXL fell a bit limp by only taking in $12 million over the weekend and its five-day debut was $27.1. This was quite disappointing compared to the original which was all pumped up with a $39.1 million opening of the original stripper classic!

At the same time though, Magic Mike set it’s own record since an unheard of 96 percent of the audience were women! They may have not won the box office, but it at least sounds like they hit their target audience on the head!

However, Terminator: Genisys was the big loser and ended up crossing the finish line at number three for the weekend with a three-day gross of $28.7 and five day holiday take of $44.1! It was the major disappointment because it had a $155 million budget and this weekend hoped to re-spark a franchise — but to be fair, no one could have ever predicted the tyrannosaurus-like legs that Jurassic World has had.
