Bill Cosby has a lot to lose.
Just days after court docs revealed that Bill gave quaaludes to women with the intent of procuring non-consensual sex, petitions have popped up pleading for the comedian to lose his Hollywood Walk of Fame star AND his Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Those who’ve signed the petitions cite the comedian’s extensive history of allegedly sexually assaulting women as the main reason for their outrage, while the recent revelations have only added fuel to the fire.
So, is it possible to take away Cosby’s awards?
According to Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president Leron Grubler, BC’s star will not be removed, saying:
“The answer is no. Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.”
Hmm, we wonder what limits there are to the “historic fabric” dilemma.
As for the Presidential Medal of Freedom, there’s still hope. A White House representative explained:
“I don’t know whether or not it’s legally possible to do so.”
Well, that’s not a for sure NO!
What’s crazy about this particular award is that Cosby received it alongside Nelson Mandela in 2002. Umm, how can these two be in the same category, especially now?!
