Michelle Obama wants to get the White House in pristine condition before she leaves!
It’s been reported that the First Lady has redecorated the White House State Dining Room — at the small price of $595,000!
A few of the modest changes include silk draperies, custom made mahogany chairs (with “horsehair” fabric and trimmed with brass nail heads, of course!)
The update has been in the works since 2012, upon the arrival of two new custom-made wool rugs — so they can be switched out for cleaning!
This refurbishment isn’t FLOTUS’s first dramatic unveiling of an updated room in the White House.
In February, the 51-year-old updated the White House Family Dining room with abstract paintings and a 1950’s inspired carpet. Then a few months later, she revealed a modern-inspired china service!
We totally get that the State Dining Room holds important meetings and dinners and what not — but where did that HALF A MILLION DOLLAR budget come from!?
This extremely lavish government-funded interior design kind of sounds like something The Capitol would do in The Hunger Games…
