Seriously kids, do NOT play with fireworks!!!
New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul reportedly had to have his right index finger amputated on Wednesday after a firework accident seriously injured his hand!
The news of the accident first broke this weekend after he was rushed to the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida on the 4th of July, and it probably didn’t help that there were multiple pictures on social media of a van FILLED with fireworks that apparently belonged to him!
The extent of his injuries was originally unknown, but now we’re hearing he also suffered a broken thumb in addition to losing his finger!! While this may all sound extremely gruesome, you might be surprised to hear that Jason is actually expected to only be out for about six weeks!
That’s right! This guy lost a finger and he will probably STILL play next season! We guess he’s lucky you don’t need all 10 fingers to tackle someone!
Unfortunately, the news of JPP’s injury was released before his own team even knew about it, suggesting an employee at the hospital LEAKED his private info!
The Jackson Memorial Hospital released a statement on the issue, saying:
Yikes! Someone has some SERIOUS explaining to do!!!
While the hospital clears that mess up, we’re sure a TON of teams in the league are adding strict no-fireworks policies to their rulebooks! LOLz!
