Robin Williams’ Daughter Zelda Takes A Break From Social Media During Her Dad’s Birthday

Zelda Williams is going on an internet hiatus.

Zelda Williams is going off the grid.

Tuesday marks what would have been Robin Williams‘ 64th birthday, and his daughter decided she needed to go on a social media hiatus during this emotional time.

On Monday, the 25-year-old shared a photo of a cloud on her Instagram account, and used the caption to explain why she needed a break from the internet, writing:

“Kinda hoping I fly thru that very cloud on the way home ├ó┼ô╦å├»┬╕┬Å on another note, I will be taking a break from social media in the coming weeks. It’s a time better served away from the opinions or sentiments of others, and I appreciate your understanding. In my absence, I understand there will be those who wish to leave messages regarding Dad on my board, but please attempt to be respectful and kind to one another in the process, both because I will not be here to delete or mediate trolling, and because kindness is in short supply these days anyhow ├░┼╕╦£ΓÇ╣ Thanks guys. Buh-bye now! ├ó┬¥┬ñ├»┬╕┬Å”

She also kept her Twitter followers in the loop on Tuesday, by linking back to the above post and telling them to behave while she’s away, tweeting:

“Thanks for all the kind thoughts. Taking a break for a bit. Don’t burn the place down while I’m gone!”

This isn’t the first time the aspiring actress has taken a break from social media. She sadly stopped posting for a while after her dad’s tragic passing last year, because she was reportedly getting trolled.

In her Instagram post, Zelda writes that she’ll be on her internet hiatus for “the coming weeks,” and with the anniversary of Robin’s death on August 11 rapidly approaching, it’s possible she’ll stay offline through the sad day.

Our hearts go out to Zelda and all of Robin’s family during this tough time.
