After A Waitress Paid For Two Firefighters’ Meals, They Repaid Her In The Most AH-Mazing Way!

A firefighter paid forward this waitress' charity in the most amazing way!

Now this is how you pay it forward!

Liz Woodward, a waitress, was serving breakfast to firefighters Tim Young and Paul Hullings at the Route 130 Diner in New Jersey when she overheard them talking about a warehouse fire the two had dealt with during their overnight shift.

Touched by their hard work, Woodward decided to cover their bill for breakfast, and when the tab was sent to their table, firefighters Young and Hullings were surprised to see their meal had been paid for by the waitress.

On the back of the bill, Woodward had written:

“Your breakfast is on me today. Thank you all that you do, for serving us and for running into the places everyone runs away from. No matter your role, you are corageous, brave and strong. Thank you for being bold everyday. Fueled by fire and driven by courage – what an example you are. Get some rest!”

Young posted the note and a picture of the diner on Facebook, urging his friends to go there and tip well:

It could’ve ended there — but it didn’t! Young did a little digging and found out that Woodward was raising money to get a wheelchair accessible van for her aging father. So Young, Hullings, and nearly 200 other people have donated to Woodward’s van campaign!

Woodward had been hoping to raise $17,000, but after Young and Hullings took note of the campaign and strangers picked up the tab, she’s already raised nearly $40,000!! AH-mazing!!

No doubt shocked by it all, Woodward responded with a message on her own Facebook account:

“Look for those opportunities because they are everywhere. You can make a difference — it doesn’t always have to be an elaborate production or effort- it’s always the little things that have the greatest impact.”

Preach!! What an incredible group of people all around!
