Well, this cover surely gives unrealistic body standards to vigilantes!
Ben Affleck may be playing an older version of Bruce Wayne, but Batman looks more like the Hulk on the new cover of Empire magazine for the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!
Standing next to a just as serious looking Henry Cavill, the dark knight looks much more
photoshopped buff and badass than Superman!
Director Zack Snyder explains that Batman has a “gravitas” that perpetuates his solemn demeanor. As for Superman, Cavill explains this film will pick up during a tough time for the superhero:
“In this movie, everyone has split into different directions as to how they feel about this alien. Some people love him, some hate him. Other people fear him. Is he a tyrant?”
Taking a page from Marvel‘s playbook, DC is planning a series of superhero/villain films that interconnect into the highly anticipated Justice League movie — Gal Gadot‘s Wonder Woman and Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman will also be introduced in Dawn of Justice!
While confirming all of the upcoming DC films will take place within the same universe, Snyder asserts that the other directors don’t have to follow his same methods, explaining:
“I want all the other directors of the other films to be able to stretch their legs and do what they want, but at the same time there is a big interconnected universe.”
We can’t wait to see Batman v Superman when it hits theaters March 25, 2016!
