Talk about awkward!
On Tuesday, Cara Delevingne appeared on Good Day Sacramento via satellite to promote her film Paper Towns, and it seems the interview did not go according to plan.
While discussing her starring role in the anticipated film, the 22-year-old sarcastically answered a few patronizing questions — which resulted in the news anchors turning on her. Yikes!
When one anchor asked if the blonde beauty had read John Green‘s novel prior to filming the on-screen adaptation, she seemed taken aback.
“Uh, no. I never read the book or the script. I kind of winged it. No, of course, [I did.] John Green is an incredible author, so really if you haven’t read his books, you should.”
Is it just us or was her answer funny?!
Unfortunately, the interview did not turn around after those opening remarks. The British starlet has quite the deadpan sense of humor, which the KMAX-TV news anchors appeared to take personally.
In fact, one of the anchor’s called out the model-turned-actress for her lack of “voomph.”
“You seemed a lot more excited about [the movie] than you do right now? Are you just exhausted?”
Whoa! That’s kind of an uncomfortable question to ask.
Taylor Swift‘s bestie explained:
“No, I mean, I’m still very excited. The premiere was last night and it felt like the end of an era, but I’m not any less excited than I was a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I had a bit more energy. It’s the morning.”
Fair point, Cara! However, the newscasters were unable to let Miz Delevingne’s weariness go and even went as far as to say she seemed “irritated.”
If Cara wasn’t annoyed before, she was after that comment!
“No. I think it’s just you.”
The GDS team cut the interview short but not before one last patronizing remark.
“We’ll let you go then, how about that? We’ll let you go and take a nap and maybe have a Red Bull.”
That’s some serious shade! The trio proceeded to mock the popular celeb as the satellite feed cut out. Whomp, whomp.
Who do U think was in the wrong?!
Ch-ch-check the entire awkward interview (below).
