Amy Schumer‘s ready for action.

On Monday, the Inside Amy Schumer star stopped by Jon Stewart‘s The Daily Show to promote her summer comedy, Trainwreck — and another somber topic. The comedienne put the jokes aside to address the tragic shooting that happened in Louisiana during a screening of her film.

She stated:

“What a bummer, I was legit heartbroken. To get that call, I’d had a lot of missed calls so I assumed there was a sex tape out of me or something. I was preparing for that, then to hear that news, it broke my heart.”

However, the starlet didn’t only just send her condolences, she also teamed up with her relative Senator Chuck Schumer earlier that day to promote tighter gun control.

In fact, this recent activism is simply the blonde beauty keeping her promise that she was “on it.” The actress decided to take action after a woman in San Diego reached out to her following the shooting.

She explained:

“The fact that this happened ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ you want to act. I wanted to go down there and do whatever I could, this was in the works. I am so happy he invited me to be a part of it.”

Well said, Miz Schumer. We’re LOVING this activist side of you.

We think the funny lady is the perfect spokesperson for this cause — especially as this isn’t the first time Amy’s taken on challenging topics.

Keep doing you girl and know how proud we are of you.
