Bart and Gloria, sitting in a tree…

Sofia Vergara will somehow be finding time in her busy Modern Family schedule to head over to the Fox lot to record a voice for The Simpsons!

With the passing of Marcia Wallace — the actress who voiced Bart’s teacher Mrs. Krabappel — in 2013, the door has been left open for new teachers to come in to fill her spot.

Cue Vergara who will be temporarily stepping into the role of Bart’s new teacher, Mrs. Berrera!

Not only that, but it comes at a very intriguing time as Bart starts drinking a milk substitute that’s filled with bad hormones which cause him to experience early puberty and grow a mustache! You know what this means — he’s going to be hot for teacher!

The Simpsons producer Al Jean spoke a bit about the new character saying:

“She pays special attention to him.”

Jean goes on to say that there will be a rivalry between Bart and Principal Skinner for Mrs. Berrera’s attention:

“We thought it’d be interesting if both Bart and Skinner have a crush on the same woman. She feels Skinner is a wounded soul that she wants to take care of. She is a vet like Skinner, and that’s his attraction.”

The longtime producer also said that the door is left open for Vergara to return if the opportunity arises!

Even though her guest spot episode — hilariously titled Teenage Mutant Milk-Caused Hurdles — won’t air until midway through the season, you can check out The Simpsons‘ 27th season premiere on Fox September 27!
