Poor Prince George!

The 2-year-old may not understand what’s going on yet as far as publicity and media surrounding the royal family — but his parents and others around him sure do, and they aren’t happy with the way the young prince is being treated by paparazzi!

The prince’s parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, are so upset by the paparazzi’s tactics recently, that they’ve released an official letter addressed to international media outlets via Jason Knauf, the communications secretary at Kensington Palace.

And Jason was direct to the point regarding what’s going on with paparazzi and Prince George:

“In recent months, there have been an increasing number of incidents of paparazzi harassment of Prince George, and the tactics being used are increasingly dangerous.”

He also described a scary recent incident involving a photog covertly snapping pics of the young prince:

“One recent incident├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥just last week├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥was disturbing, but not at all uncommon. A photographer rented a car and parked in a discreet location outside a children’s play area. Already concealed by darkened windows, he took the added step of hanging sheets inside the vehicle and created a hide stocked with food and drinks to get him through a full day of surveillance, waiting in hope to capture images of Prince George. Police discovered him lying down in the boot of the vehicle attempting to shoot photos with a long lens through a small gap in his hide.”

What the what?!

The communications secretary also relayed a message from the prince’s proud parents:

“All of this has left the Duke and Duchess concerned about their ability to provide a childhood for Prince George and Princess Charlotte that is free from harassment and surveillance. They know that almost all parents love to share photos of their children and they themselves enjoy doing so. But they know every parent would object to anyone├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥particularly strangers├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥taking photos of their children without their permission.”

That seems pretty reasonable, right?!

And even though paparazzi has always wanted to capture photos of the entire family, Prince George has quickly become the number one target of the cameras, much to the chagrin of Knauf and Kensington Palace:

“We have made the decision to discuss these issues now as the incidents are becoming more frequent and the tactics more alarming. A line has been crossed and any further escalation in tactics would represent a very real security risk.”

He was quick to note that the royal family will continue pursuing legal action against all paparazzi and media outlets involved in the distribution of illegally-taken pictures.

The official Kensington Palace Twitter account even referenced incidents and outlined their plans to continue publishing legally-obtained pictures of the prince and his family:

What do U think? Are the royals right to worry about Prince George’s privacy?! Or is this just part of the reality of growing up as part of a royal family??
