It’s about time!
On Sunday at the VMAS, Kanye West is actually going to be invited up on stage!
That’s because he’s going to be receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award which honors artists for their contributions to the art of music videos.

The All Day rapper will be joining the likes of past winners such as Madonna, the Beastie Boys, David Bowie, Justin Timberlake, and of course Michael Jackson!
MTV posted nine pictures to Instagram creating a collage of Ye (above), as well as releasing a statement addressing their decision and praising West by saying:
“Throughout his career, West has blended musical and visual artistry to powerful effect. From his trilogy of videos for ├óΓé¼╦£Jesus Walks,’ to the mind-bending animation of ├óΓé¼╦£Heartless,’ to the arresting imagery of ├óΓé¼╦£Bound 2,’ he’s pushed boundaries and delivered something new with every successive video.”
Last year’s winner Beyonc├â┬⌐ performed a very lengthy medley that might as well have been a mini concert, before delivering a touching speech next to Jay Z and Blue Ivy.
We’re not sure what Kanye will do, but we’re sure it’ll be memorable!
