Does This New Game Of Thrones Twin Theory Explain Jon Snow Completely? Or Is It TWO Crazy!?

If you’re caught up on Game Of Thrones, then you’re probably spending most of your time looking up fan theories about how the series’ many characters will survive.

Or maybe how they’ll connect?

The newest entry from the theory mill is as far-fetched as it gets — but we can’t help but admit that it kinda makes sense!!

This complicated theory is actually an extension of a much more popular fan theory — the R+L=J theory — which hypothesizes that Jon Snow isn’t the bastard son of Ned Stark, but is actually the offspring of Rhaegar Targaryen (Daenerys’s deceased older brother) and Lyanna Stark (Ned’s deceased sister)!

Some fans have predicted that the opening scene of season 6 would include a flashback to Ned finding a dying Lyanna in the Tower of Joy, shortly after she has given birth, where she makes Ned promise to hide her baby — who BTW would have a rightful claim to the Iron Throne!

Ned — being ever loyal to a fault — would have kept his sister’s secret even from his own wife!

We can totally get on board with that, but here’s where it gets messy. The new R+L=J+M theory expands that belief that Lyanna also gave birth to a baby girl — who is Jon Snow’s twin sister!!

This theory aligns with the GoT theory that Meera Reed, the badass girl who is currently guarding Bran, is actually Jon Snow’s twin sister — which explains the R+L=J+M equation!

There’s more to suggest this theory besides the fact that they look EXACTLY alike. The show’s Wikipedia page states they were both born in 283 AC (the same year that Lyanna Stark Died).

Also, Meera’s alleged father Howland Reed was with Ned at the Tower of Joy the day the went to search for Lyanna, so it’s pretty plausible if Howland raised Meera as his own!

So did Ned pull a Luke and Leia and separate the twins to keep them safe??

As of now, there’s no information that negates this theory. While it’s still a long shot, Jon having a twin sister would be a pretty great twist!

Guess we’ll have to wait until Game of Thrones returns to find out!
