Business as usual over at Ashley Madison!
The site, after being dragged through the mud over and over and over again in the recent hacking scandal, has just released a statement that they are going to keep moving forward! Really?!
After evidence came to light that most of the women’s profiles on the site are fake and/or never used, it seemed a safe bet that the site would be folding like the futons to which thousands of subscribing husbands have been exiled.
But Avid Life Media, the company that owns Ashley Madison, claims that they are going strong — and that nearly 90,000 women signed up on the site this week alone!
The statement read, in part:
“The Ashley Madison app is the 14th highest grossing app in the USA social networking category in the Apple App Store. Approximately 70 percent of our revenue on any given day is from members making repeat purchases. We think that shows happy customers on a consistent basis.
Ashley Madison is the number one service for real people seeking discreet encounters. We invite everyone to visit our website or our app and make up their own mind.”
Hmm… something tells us the numbers are a bit inflated based on what we’ve previously seen about the site being a sausage fest, but hey — who wouldn’t want to join a site that has now shown itself to be completely vulnerable to hackers in addition to likely being 95% male?!
What do U think — when the dust settles, will Ashley Madison be helped by all the recent negative publicity?! Or is this company on the way out the door and grasping at strings??
