We’d SO go to this!
Recently, Kerman High School in California released a video explaining that their theme for this year’s homecoming was going to be Tom Hanks!
But the school wanted to do more than just have the actor as their theme, as student body advisor David Bakholdin explained in the video:
“Since this is Kerman, and we like to do things a little bit bigger and better than everybody else, we would like to officially extend an invitation to be the marshal of our homecoming festivities.”
Since then, there has been a ton of promotion for the event, including getting the hashtag #TomHanks2KermanHC trending in hopes that the Oscar winner will show up!
Well we’re not sure if he’s going to accept being the homecoming marshal, but the 59-year-old did take to Twitter to say:
Gear up, Kerman High School for Homecoming! I’m working on something for the Festivites! Hanx
— Tom Hanks (@tomhanks) September 1, 2015
The high school’s student body president Hannah Turner was pretty shocked at how quickly the actor responded saying:
“It really was just amazing. We never thought that it would happen this fast. Once we started putting the hashtag out there, the whole entire community stepped up and started putting it on Facebook and on Twitter, and our parents started joining in.”
We don’t know about you, but we’d LOVE to go to a Hanks-themed ANYTHING!
We’re definitely curious what the actor has in mind, but regardless, we think Hanks will come through in a Big way!
