The Gossip Girl actress was seen bonding and grabbing lunch with her little ones on Friday — only one day after her MAJOR custody hearing overseas.
Unfortunately, a source relayed that though the feuding parents have joint custody, Miz Rutherford’s mini-mes are to remain with their father in Europe for the time being.
However, the determined mother will have her chance again in Monaco’s court system on October 26.
An insider shared:
“Everybody agrees that it’s best that the children be with both parents, and Kelly’s enjoying being with them.”
Hmm, very inneresting.
The former soap opera star has been fighting to keep her children in the U.S. (where they were born) since 2012. The custody battle took a dramatic turn this summer, when the mother-of-two defied court orders and refused to return her kids to their father because the little ones didn’t want to go back. So sad.
We can’t even begin to imagine the hardship Kelly has been through.
Nonetheless, the upcoming court date could be a major turning point for the Melrose Place alum.
Legal expert, Michael Stutman noted:
“Custody hearings only take into account what would be in the best interest of the children, not in the best interest of the parents. If it would be inconvenient for Kelly to see the children in Monaco, she should have thought of that before she pulled the stunt of not sending them back to their father. It’s in the children’s best interest to live in a stable home, and whether they’re United States citizens or not has no impact on where that home is.”
That’s a tad harsh.
Our fingers are crossed that Kelly doesn’t end up losing her visitation rights all together. Good luck!
