We have to be honest, when we saw Kim Davis walk out of jail on Tuesday to crowd of cheering supporters waving cardboard crosses and holding signs comparing the Supreme Court to ISIS, we sort of wanted to throw up.
But nothing triggered our gag reflex more than the fact that she was paraded on stage — hand-in-hand with presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee — to Eye Of The Tiger.
That’s right. The same song that was used to score Sylvester Stallone‘s iconic training montage in Rocky III was also playing as the Kentucky clerk who refused to give marriage licenses to same-sex couples was released from prison.
And it turns out we aren’t the only ones who are upset about it!
Frankie Sullivan, who plays guitar for Survivor, is NOT happy that the band’s song was coming out of the speakers during this moment.
He took to Facebook to stress to fans and followers that Kim and Mike did not have permission to play their hit, writing:
“NO! We did not grant Kim Davis any rights to use ‘My Tune -The Eye Of The Tiger.’ I would not grant her the rights to use Charmin! C’mom Mike, you are not The Donald but you can do better than that”
In fact, the band is contemplating filing a lawsuit over the ordeal! The group’s rep says they’re concerned about the integrity of Survivor’s music remaining intact.
