jessica alba sunscreen lawsuit

It looks like Jessica Alba‘s ready to get Honest.

ICYMI: In the last week, the Sin City actress has been slapped with not one but TWO class-action lawsuits for her company’s allegedly faulty sunscreen and other products. It’s said that each complainant is seeking $5 million in damages.

Whomp, whomp.

Nonetheless, it seems the starlet is sticking by her eco-friendly business.

She stated:

“It pains me that anyone doesn’t have an incredible experience with Honest Company. We have grown so quickly, we are not even four years old, what we have learned is that we need to do a better job at educating.”

Not quite an apology but it’s a start!

Though, it does appear that the Barely Lethal star has learned from this experience and plans to grow from it.

She noted:

“Next year, [Honest is] going to launch a safe sun education platform around sunscreen and the difference between chemical and mineral sunscreens├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥the importance of reapplication, how to apply, and all of that.”

Umm, cool. But what about the people who’ve already been burnt from using your product?!

All the drama started back in August when disgruntled customers took to Twitter to showcase their burns and complain about the ineffectiveness of the eco-product. The 34-year-old and her business partner Christopher Gavigan attempted to address the issue and appease the various concerns with an open letter on their brand’s website — but unfortunately it didn’t work.

The first suit is being led by Jonathan D. Rubin, who claims that the Honest Company deceptively labeled and marketed their product. Ouch!

The second suit accuses Miz Alba’s business of changing the formula of the sunscreen without notifying their customers. Yikes!

Many customers may be frustrated with the brand, but the mother-of-two doesn’t seem dissuaded from looking to the future for her business. Well, that’s good to hear!

In fact, Jessica has launched Honest Beauty as the next expansion for her company.

She announced:

“Honest Beauty represents diverse beauty. The payoff of our products are second to none├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥they’re gorgeous. Because I have so much experience with movies and TV and red carpet, I needed the beauty products to really last. But I also wanted to be able to do a 10-minute face when I’m, like, hanging out with the kids on the weekend. [These are] dynamic products that make you look awesome.”

Hmm, it’ll be inneresting to see if these lawsuits will affect the sales of her constantly growing business.
