Otters! They’re just like us! Meaning, they deal with certain medical conditions the same way we do!
Mishka the sea otter is believed to have the first case of asthma seen in its species, and is now learning to use an inhaler to combat the coughing!
The adorable animal — who currently resides at the Seattle Aquarium — was diagnosed by a doctor with the lung disease after smoke from nearby wildfires was making it difficult for her to breathe.
So, the one-year-old’s trainer is teaching her to push her nose up against an inhaler and take a big breath! And the craziest part is that she’s actually taking the same medicine that humans use for their asthma as well!
Mishka will probably have to use the inhaler for the rest of her life, but ch-ch-check her out trying to learn the ropes (below)!
