emmy winner arrested attempted murder

On Monday, Emmy Award winner Andre Salamán Bautista pleaded not guilty after being arrested for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Whoa!

Andre, whose professional moniker is Andre Bauth, was accused of stabbing his roommate in their Studio City, CA apartment earlier this month. The victim is said to be actor Clayton Haymes, who got into an argument with the defendant after he teased Andre’s statement about him planning to win several Oscars one day.

No way! We think the Colombian native’s dream wasn’t so absurd as he previously won the 2015 Daytime Emmy Award for his work on The Bay. Nonetheless, having his pride hurt doesn’t mean you should attack and stab another person!

After the file was reported, the industry pro turned himself into the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. Hmm, very inneresting.

The producer was slapped with a bail set at $550,000 — though he’ll return to court for a motion hearing regarding the bail on Thursday. Someone cue the Law & Order theme song for this guy. WE KID.

Regardless, the case is still under investigation. Unfortunately, if Andre is found guilty he could face up to 13 years in prison. Oof!

We’ll be keeping our eye on this case so be sure to stay tuned for any updates!
