It’s so nice to see these two together again!
Just two years after David Beckham presented Malala Yousafzai the Pride of Britain Award for her courageous acts against terrorism, the pair reunited at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Saturday.
For those who don’t know, the Nobel Peace Prize recipient survived an assassination attempt from the Taliban in 2012. The young girl was targeted simply because she refused to follow the group’s order that women couldn’t attend school, a major blow to the brainiac.
Not to mention Malala was outspoken against the terrorist organization’s practices in her region of Pakistan and often contributed to blogs detailing her oppressed life as early as age 11.
David, who is very passionate about global issues and the story of Malala’s commitment to get an education despite the odds, was thrilled to meet up with the 18-year-old once again.
The father of four captioned the cute and moving snap:
“I was fortunate again to meet the incredible and inspirational Malala. A true role model to so many people.”
Aw! We’re glad Beckham is choosing to highlight such a pivotal women’s rights activist on Instagram — think about all of the people who know about Yousafzai’s inspiring story now!

How moving and special! We hope these two have a life long friendship and that their partnership brings awareness to women’s issues!
