Unfortunately, the 7-year-old Floridian spends most of his time in and out of hospitals as he battles mitochondrial disease, a terminal disease that attacks the digestive system.

But Spencer got a very special treat when he got a chance to visit the Pasco Sheriff’s Office and was deputized for the day!

Knowing his love for zombies, the local law enforcers kept the undead surprises going as several of them did the Thriller dance for him!

And if that wasn’t enough, high schoolers from the area spent the day dressed up as zombies and were scattered throughout the jail!

Luckily Spencer was equipped with his trusty NERF gun and helped the cops rid the place of the undead! Somewhere out there, Daryl Dixon is smiling!
