You just can’t make this stuff up! But we bet someone wishes they had because that’d be a great rom-com, no?
Last month, Adrian and Brooke Franklin tied the knot at South Gastonia Church of God in North Carolina, but that’s not the first time they walked down that aisle together!
As children 17 years ago, the precious pair served as the flower girl and the ring bearer for their parents’ friends’ wedding! Talk about foreshadowing! LOL!
But Brooke says that back then, Adrian NEVER would have seen this coming:
“I had a crush on him from the start. He absolutely could not stand me. He said ‘I got on his nerves.’ I’d tried to play with him at school and at church and he just didn’t want much to do with me at all.”
Her husband remembered that their relationship got off to a rocky start:
“I was always trying to get away from her and run from her and hide from her.”
Granted, they were children! Kids still believe in cooties, after all!
But then in high school, Adrian warmed up to the idea of dating. He recalled:
“We would draw with our finger on each other’s backs and guess what the other person was writing. I wrote ‘Will you be my girlfriend’ and she guessed it, but didn’t answer me. I said ‘Well Brooke, are you going to say anything?’ and she said ‘Well you didn’t write a question mark.'”
He said the missing question mark was a recurring theme when he popped the big question:
“Before our wedding day I had a sign made that said ‘Will you marry me’ but I cut the question mark out.”
He handed Brooke the punctuation symbol when he got down on one knee. Too cute! Now take a look at them (below)!
Everything came full circle when they exchanged “I dos” on September 19. Not only were they getting married in the same church where they served as flower girl and ring bearer as kids, but the bride from that wedding was even one of the guests!
In fact, Brooke says they hadn’t even connected the dots until she gave them their wedding gift:
“We forgot that we were in the wedding together and she brought the photos to us. She just thought that was the neatest thing. She was really excited.”
