On Friday, it was revealed by DailyMail that former teen heartthrob David Cassidy was involved in a nasty hit-and-run in Florida while driving on a suspended license. Yikes!
Apparently, back in September, the Partridge Family actor slammed into a car, owned by a man named Pedro Vargas, while swerving in-and-out of lanes on Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Pedro was treated by the paramedics and rushed to the local hospital. Reportedly, the accident caused $12,000 in damages to the victim’s vehicle.
Officers eventually tracked the songwriter’s Kia at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL where David claimed he left the scene in order to go to an already scheduled doctor’s appointment. Right, because that makes sense.
However, the police that eventually found him didn’t even test to see if he was under the influence — despite his history with drinking and driving.
Hmm, very inneresting. In case you forgot, the former hitmaker has three DUIs on his record and recently filed for bankruptcy. Oof!
Still, the 65-year-old has since been charged with a hit-and-run after he sped away without leaving his information. If found guilty, David could face up to 60 days in jail, six months probation, and a $500 fine. Whoa!
To make matters worse, an eye-witness claims they saw the controversial celeb get out of his car following the incident to cover up his license plate. Ugh!
It’ll be inneresting see what happens when the guitarist heads to court on October 27. Perhaps this incident will be the much needed wake-up call for the pop star!
