Hmmm… are you buying this?!

Johnny Depp claims he has no interest in winning an Oscar, despite his long movie career and all the phenomenal and interesting work he’s already put in, and the work he still has in his future.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Depp had a very simple reason for his desire to not win an Oscar:

“I don’t want to win one of those things ever, you know. I don’t want to have to talk.”

Hey, we get it! Depp is a soft-spoken guy, and the thought of standing up to give one of those acceptance speeches is intimidating!

Depp also spoke about his nominations, and how competition isn’t what drives him in Hollywood:

“They gave me one of those things, like a nomination, two or three times. A nomination is plenty├óΓé¼┬ª The idea of winning means that you’re in competition with someone and I’m not in competition with anybody. I just stick to my guns and do what I want to do. Sometimes people don’t like it but that’s alright.”

Depp, who may very well win an Oscar this year for the work he did in Black Mass, is definitely on to something about not competing with other actors! But at the same time, Hollywood is a business and a competitive environment…

What do U think?? Is Depp telling the truth about not wanting to win an Oscar, or just being coy in an interview?!
