Seeing the opportunity for a funny sketch, Ellen spoofed the upcoming sitcom — but many people found her take offensive!
The sketch followed a typical sitcom format with a young Nicki lying to her parents about doing her household chores. But the main joke was that every actor in the sketch had really, really big butts!
Everyone in the family — including lil’ Nicki, her mother, her father, and even the household dog — all had humongous booties that got in the way and knocked everything over!
Ellen is receiving a bit of heat for what some Twitter users are deeming as a “tasteless” joke — and some are even calling racially insensitive:

Ellen DeGeneres disappointed me w/ that Nicki Minaj skit. It was lazy and tasteless at best. Racist & a modern day minstrel show at worst.

that Nicki parody on Ellen wasn’t funny. it was actually offensive; which, saddens me because I love Ellen. ├░┼╕╦£ΓÇÖ

Others argue that the hip-hop superstar’s derriere is fair game to make fun of, since she has not been shy about capitalizing her backside herself!
Do YOU think Ellen’s joke went too far, or is Nicki’s booty fair game to make fun of? Watch the sketch (below) and decide for yourself!
Ellen/Nicki Minaj SKit Yesterday, Ellen DeGeneres aired a skit about an upcoming sitcom around Nicki Minaj’s childhood.
