Another family member is expressing their sadness about Lamar Odom‘s critical condition.

The two-time NBA champ’s paternal grandmother, Florence Odom, found out LO has been fighting for his life on Wednesday — a day after the 35-year-old was found unconscious at Nevada’s Love Ranch.

In a heartfelt statement to NBC News, Florence shared:

“I’m praying to God. I’m asking God to please let him survive. This really takes me over. Lamar is just 35. It’s really shocked me. Lamar is special. He made himself a name all over the world. And he’s just a cutie.”

This is just tragic.

Joe Odom‘s mother is one of the few remaining relatives of Lamar after the deaths of Lamar’s mother, maternal grandmother, newborn son, and two of his best friends.

Loved ones and peers are rallying behind the troubled athlete in hopes of a full recovery.

Former Clippers teammate Chris Paul joined the basketball community in offering support to Odom during a press conference in Shanghai:

“I wanted to extend love and support to one of our NBA brothers, Lamar Odom. We love you, man. Keep fighting. He’s a member of this fraternity, our basketball brotherhood, and we love you and we’re all there for you, man.”

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Lamar and his loved ones.
