All is good in the hood.
Although Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy ended their engagement in 2014, the actress and the musician never gave a reason as to why they split…
In the November issue of Allure magazine, the Almost Famous star dishes on why her and the Muse frontman decided to part ways.
The 36-year-old exclaimed :
“Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it. If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives├óΓé¼┬ª That doesn’t mean, though, that we can’t rebuild something that would be the best thing for the kids.”
However, the two do whatever is in the best interest of their four-year-old son, Bingham Bellamy. The thespian also has an 11-year-old son, Ryder Robinson, from her previous relationship with Chris Robinson.
“We said, ‘We need to try to create something for the kids where they feel like they’re gaining something rather than losing something’… It’s been a seamless transition. Kids just want to see their parents be cool. Everybody’s cool; everybody’s good.”‘
In fact, Hudson knows what it’s like to be a part of a mixed family.
“Being someone who has come from a broken family and has a stepfather [Kurt Russell], I really benefited from having that very consistent [presence] in my life├óΓé¼┬ª And it’s something I am mindful of and want in my life.”
We are so glad Kate and Matt remain amicable, and we think other celeb couples should take note!
