Jeff Daniels Gives Female Stars Advice On Hollywood’s Gender Pay Gap & How To Get What They Want!

Hollywood can be an extremely unfair place.

Jeff Daniels spoke to reporters on Wednesday, discussing the recent controversy that’s swelled from Jennifer Lawrence‘s essay on fighting for equal pay in future roles.

The Newsroom star sided squarely with Lawrence — which is a lot better than some other stars have done lately — and spoke on the difficulty women have in earning equal pay in the film industry:

“Welcome to Hollywood. But if you’re Jennifer [Lawrence] or Jessica [Chastain] and you have the leverage, use it. Get what you can get.”

It’s sad to think the system is set up in such a way that ‘get what you can get’ is the only advice female stars are getting!

The Steve Jobs star shared a bit more of his own history in the interview, too:

“Look, get what you can get. Certainly women have had a tougher time of it, [I] absolutely agree with it. However, I’ve stood next to big stars who are making a hell of a lot more money than I am. But I can relate, I can relate.”

And, he finally dropped the truth of some of the shady dealings that have gone on for years in Hollywood, saying:

“[Entertainment is] a business, run by people who have three or four sets of books.”

Ain’t that the truth.

What do U think of Daniels’ comments?? Certainly better than what Jeremy Renner said earlier this week, right??
