This is crazy!
In case you haven’t seen it yet, a disturbing video (below) showing a South Carolina school officer violently arresting a student at Spring Valley High School has gone viral.
The resource officer — identified by students as Ben Fields — was recorded on Monday seemingly choking the student, slamming her to the ground, and dragging her across the classroom floor while placing her under arrest!
Spring Valley student Aaron Johnson, who was allegedly present in the class at the time of the assault, said that the girl was asked by their teacher to leave the classroom and go to the discipline office.
When she ignored the teacher and an administrator and refused to get out of her seat, the resource officer was called in and asked her if “she was gonna go or if he had to make her go.”
Johnson explained what happened next, saying:
“Then he grabbed her and pulled her out of her desk and she fell on the ground with the desk still on her. He then threw her across the room and then got on top of her. Another student tried to stand up for her, which also led to her arrest.”
The student claims that Fields “has a history of using aggressive force,” but doesn’t know too much about the girl in the video, who recently transferred into his class.
The video has sparked another round of of media outrage about police brutality against African Americans.

Superintendent of Richland County School District Two Debbie Hamm said officials were “deeply concerned” about the assault, and they were “working closely and in full cooperation” with county sheriff’s investigators.
A statement from Sheriff Lott on Monday evening said officials in his department are:
“Aware of the incident, and are looking into the circumstances that took place this afternoon, and will have more once we look at the information in its entirety.”
School officials also said the officer is not allowed to work at any district schools pending the outcome of the investigation.
