A Terminally-Ill Cancer Patient Gets To See Star Wars: The Force Awakens Early

His dying wish has been granted.

Daniel Fleetwood is a huge Star Wars fan. Sadly, he is also terminally ill.

But thanks to J.J. Abrams, his final wish has come true. The 32-year-old has a rare form of cancer, and was upset that he might not “make it” to see The Force Awakens when it hits theaters on December 18.

The ailing fan was told back in July that he only had two months to live.

Daniel, who had loved the film franchise since he was a child, is currently in hospice care, and his loved ones had recently started a social media campaign urging Disney and LucasFilms to allow him to watch the highly-anticipated movie early.

And on Thursday, the execs granted their request.

Daniel’s wife, Ashley, took to Facebook to share the good news, writing:

To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniels final dream was just granted!!! Today…

Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the original trilogy, had supported his online movement and was thrilled to learn that his wish was fulfilled.

He wrote on Twitter:

We are so happy Daniel’s dying wish came true!
