This is horrifying.
On Monday, Philadelphia police identified two individuals who were shot and killed while having sex. According to authorities, Shakoor Arline and Lisa Smith were being intimate in the backseat of an SUV early Friday morning when someone opened the car door and murdered them.
Homicide Captain James Clark said the suspect fired nine rounds, shooting both victims in the head multiple times.
The bodies of the 25-year-old man and the 32-year-old woman were discovered Friday afternoon in Pennsylvania’s Fairmount Park.
James revealed that the two had known each other because they had worked together on a past job.
They had apparently been seeing each other on-and-off for years. However, officials say that they were also romantically involved with other people as well.
It seems as though their significant others are crucial to crack this case, since James added:
“So obviously that’s where our investigation is going to start, because somebody knew that they were in the park at that time and obviously had an issue with that.”
He also explained that the homicide didn’t appear random, because nothing had been stolen from either victim, commenting:
“You’ve got nine shots fired, all of them head shots to both of the victims, so it appears to be very much a crime of passion.”
So far, police have spoken to Shakoor’s girlfriend and are trying to contact Lisa’s boyfriend, but they say he isn’t a suspect.
Authorities are continuing to search for the individual responsible for these two tragic deaths. Our hearts go out to everyone affected during this tough time.
