The rocky romance between Glory Johnson and Brittney Griner made headline after headline.

After dating for a little while, Brittney popped the question to Glory, who actually had never been in a relationship with a woman before her.

But earlier this year, the two were arrested for assaulting each other after an argument at Lowe’s. The physical fight didn’t escalate until the then-couple was at home behind closed doors.

The new mother recalls the scary situation to Cosmo, saying:

“I’ve never been grabbed or thrown like that ever in my entire life, not by anybody. At that point, everything was out there. We were fighting. We were scrapping. Her eyes were dead black. I thought I could talk to her, but she was not there.”

The WNBA star says the 25-year-old kept a gun in the house, so when her ex said “I’ve got something for you,” her sister Judy Johnson dialed 9-1-1.

Not long after the incident, the precious pair got hitched, which might seem a little odd considering they had both just been locked up for being violent with each other.

However, the Tulsa Shock player revealed it seemed to bring them closer together, explaining:

“I thought I married the person I was supposed to be with. You work things out and fight for what you love.”

But, while the beauty’s family advised her against the union, she didn’t want to hear it:

“It wasn’t about other people. It was about us. Brittney was crying about how happy she was I stuck with her and promising she’d make it worth it. You can call me stupid for believing her, but I trusted this person.”

So, when the Phoenix Mercury center filed for annulment one day after Glory announced she was pregnant, the forward was floored, saying:

“I don’t understand. I want to understand.”

Since giving the interview, the athlete has prematurely given birth to twins. But even before she had her kids, she knew single parenthood was going to be hard, saying:

“I can’t do this by myself. I have male friends, sweet guys that are offering to help me, and I’m not handling it well. I’m pushing it away because I don’t trust anybody. I hope I get to a point where I can give somebody a fair chance, because I was so trusting before.”

But even after everything they’ve been through, she regrets nothing:

“I followed my heart. After all the things that she put me and my family through, I should hate this person. But at the end of the day, I still worry about how she’s taking all this.”

We wish Glory the best while she raises her new babies.
