New Statement Reveals Soap Opera Star Nathaniel Marston Could Be A Quadriplegic After Car Crash

This is so sad.

Oh no.

Things aren’t looking good for Nathaniel Marston after his serious car accident late last month. On October 30, the 40-year-old was driving in Reno, Nevada when he got into a single-vehicle crash.

Authorities believe the actor had fallen asleep at the wheel, which caused his truck to flip multiple times. Police say the One Life To Live alum was thrown through the windshield and crushed part of his spine when he landed.

So scary.

On Tuesday, Nathaniel’s team released a statement about his current condition, and they say the soap star is struggling:

“Marston underwent surgery November 4, and doctors were initially positive about the outcome. However, in the early morning hours of November 5 his heart stopped on two separate occasions requiring doctors to use an external pacemaker to regulate his heartbeat. He remains in critical condition, fighting pneumonia, a heart infection and irregular pulse.”

While the Connecticut native “is awake and able to mouth sentences,” doctors say it’s very possible he will be paralyzed for the rest of his life:

“The relatively positive prognosis which followed his previous surgery has dimmed. The damage to his vertebrae was extremely severe, and it is now believed that the hope of recovering upper body function was premature, and that Marston will most likely live out his life as a quadriplegic.”

This is so sad.

We’re wishing Nathaniel a speedy recovery, and our hearts go out to everyone affected during this trying time.
