Angelina Jolie Pitt had quite the full plate producing, writing, directing, and starring alongside her husband Brad Pitt in her upcoming film By The Sea!

According to the Oscar winner, one of the “strangest” parts of the experience was directing her real life and on screen man in a love scene!

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 40-year-old said:

“I’ve done sex scenes before. But this is obviously different. I almost wish every woman could have this experience: It’s the strangest thing in the world to be lying naked in a bathtub with an iPad that’s showing you the shot outside, while your husband is at the door and you’re directing him to come in and make love to you…in front of a bunch of other men with cameras.”

We can only imagine!

The drama follows an unhappy married couple who vacation in France in the 1970s.

While there was a ton of raw emotion used shooting the scenes where the couple was fighting, Jolie revealed it was weirdest filming the love scenes — because she was directing while unclothed:

“It was just so weird. I couldn’t get out of the bathtub to get to the monitor because the director is naked. We’re artists and want to be free, but Brad ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it’s his wife. He was on towel duty. He’d hold the towel over me.”

She and Brad also cracked a ton of jokes on set to break the tension!

The director continued:

“Love scenes are strange anyway, but when you’re doing a love scene with a person that you really have sex with? The only way to get through it was for us to all talk about the absurdity of it and make sure no one was feeling awkward. We made as many jokes as possible.”

Even when filming a serious drama, it sounds like the A-list couple doesn’t take themselves too seriously!

See how their sex scenes turned out when By The Sea hits theaters on Friday, November 13!
