It is just as much of a hit as we knew it would be!!
After just one day on sale, Adele is breaking records with 25, and forecasters are thinking she might sell as many as 2.5 million copies in the album’s first week on the market!!
The current record for most albums sold in the first week of release belongs to none other than *NSYNC, who sold 2.42 million copies of their second album No Strings Attached in March of 2000 — and that’s a number now well within reach for Adele this week!
After dropping on Friday, 25 sold more than 900,000 copies in just the first day (!!!), which would put it well on track for a record-setting first week!
Lots of questions still remain for 25: can it get even bigger than what forecasters predict? It couldn’t hit 3 million… right?! And can it surpass more than a million copies in its second and/or third week, too?!
If trends continue with Adele’s mega-hit, she’ll be saying Hello to the best-selling album of the year; Taylor Swift‘s 1989 has sold 1.74 million copies so far in 2015, so a mega week from Adele would be the biggest of the last 12 months!
What did U think about 25?!
