Adele is saying Hello to an entirely different world since the release of her 2011 album 21 — and we’re just not talking about her record breaking sales!
In an interview with Matt Lauer on Monday’s Today show, the British crooner talked about the wonders of motherhood! She said:
“I’ve never been happier. And I’ve never been healthier. So I’m good.”
The When We Were Young songstress referred to her 3-year-old son Angelo as her “emotional place,” explaining that he’s made her a more emotional person “in every single way possible.”
But for an artist like Adele, being fulfilled isn’t the best state of mind to be in when trying to create a tear-inducing album like 25!
In fact, the 27-year-old revealed that Angelo made her so happy that it caused problems when she was writing the album! She explained:
“I found it impossible for a while. I didn’t know what I wanted to write about. … What’s wrong is I wasn’t sad.”
On past records, the songbird’s music was powered by sadness — so this time, she thought about saying “hello” to her audience a second time!
“Hello is just about reconnecting with everyone else and myself. I couldn’t get over my guilt of leaving my kid to go and write a record and stuff like that. So [it’s] getting over that ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ getting on the other side of that. It was just, you know, it’s in general, just hello to everyone.”
To overcome her writer’s block, Adele admitted that she simply “chilled out” and stopped overthinking her process!
We LOVE how 25 turned out, did you?
