Time to pass the torch!
One of the records the sci-fi adventure broke was the biggest weekend take in the U.S. with $247 million (as well as the largest global opening weekend ever with $529 million)!
The previous opening weekend record was actually just set by Jurassic World back in June with a take of $208 million.
At the time, Kevin Feige — the president of Marvel Studios — took to Twitter to send out a congratulatory humorous message to Jurassic World from Marvel since The Avengers held the record before the dino flick.
Well Jurassic World producer Frank Marshall decided to follow suit and sent the image (below) congratulating The Force Awakens on their achievement:
Of course this message isn’t too surprising as Marshall is not only married to The Force Awakens producer Kathleen Kennedy, but Colin Trevorrow — the Jurassic World director — has already signed on to direct Star Wars: Episode IX!
Regardless, we love to see the respect and studios sending some love to each other as we’re sure they’re all happy with how incredibly successful their own movies are!
What do you think of the awesome photoshopped congratulations messages?
