The woman who collided into dozens of people in Las Vegas has been facing financial burdens for two years.
Lakeisha Holloway was arrested and charged with murder for killing one person and injuring at least 30 others when she ran over a crowd of people with her car on Sunday.
The 24-year-old told police she wasn’t able to get a decent night’s sleep in Vegas the week before the crash because she was sleeping in her car.
According to TMZ, Holloway has not had a place to live since January 2014 after she was evicted from her apartment in Washington state. Legal documents showed a judge ordered her out as she was behind on rent and utilities.
The Portland, Oregon resident’s family members said while they had let her periodically stay at their homes over the past 2 years, she never had a permanent place to live.
The mother was allegedly coming back from Texas to visit the father of her 3-year-old daughter, when she stopped in Vegas on her way back to Oregon to see if there were work opportunities.
If this is all true, it sounds like Holloway was trying to get her life back together — which will be a lot harder to do now that she faces murder charges.
