Rob Zombie is no stranger to bringing bloody, disgusting films to life.
But the director revealed his upcoming horror film 31 has been given a REAL scare — and NC-17 rating by the MPAA! TWICE!
The 50-year-old announced on Facebook that after two edits, the film was still not censored enough to achieve a satisfactory R-rating!
Rob’s wife Sheri Moon Zombie stars in the Halloween-themed slasher flick, which follows five friends trapped in a terrifying place where they must to play a violent game to survive 12 hours against a gang of evil clowns!
The MPAA rated 31 NC-17 for “sadistic graphic violence, bizarre sexuality/nudity, pervasive disturbing images and some strong language” according to Rob:
Sounds like a fun time to us! LOLz!
The filmmaker will try to edit the film a third time in hopes of getting an R-rating, explaining:
“Well, after two tries through the MPAA our rating on 31 remains NC-17. Maybe three is the charm to get an R rating. Why R you ask? Well, because your local theater will not show an NC-17. Even though you are a fucking adult… things much be censored for your enjoyment.”
