We are hoping for the best.

As we reported on Monday, Craig Strickland — country singer and frontman of the band Backroad Anthem — has gone missing after a weekend duck-hunting trip that endured awful weather.

Now, as authorities continue searching for Strickland after the boat he was riding in capsized, we are hearing more from his family, who has remained very optimistic during a trying, scary time.

Strickland, 29, went missing alongside his friend Chase Morland, 22, who has already been found dead, but that hasn’t stopped Craig’s father, Randy, from remaining hopeful that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The dad wrote on Facebook late last night (below):

“The search has been called off for the night, bringing boat with sonar in morning. A friend gave me these words! We are trying to think of a scenario where he is still alive. Hoping against the odds. We can’t even stand to think about it. We are devastated. Only God & time can put us back together. Love all!”

Strickland’s band also released a statement on the situation, saying:

“Everyone please say special prayers for the family of Chase Morland. They were very close friends and it is such a heartbreaking loss. Randy Strickland (Craig’s father) has informed us Craig has not been found. Please keep praying for his safety.”

Ugh.
