Well this is interesting!

Ever since Steve Harvey accidentally announced the wrong country as winner of the Miss Universe contest in December, we’ve gotten A LOT of details and opinions about the blunder.

Though we’ve already heard some of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach‘s opinions about the win and her thoughts on sharing the crown, we haven’t heard a whole lot about whether she’s talked to Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez — who was mistakenly announced as the winner.

Well Us Weekly got a chance to sit down with the Filipino beauty and she dished about how nice it was that Harvey apologized to her about the blunder. Pia went on to dish about her communication with Miss Colombia saying that though they haven’t talked on the phone, Wurtzbach did reach out to Ariadna on her birthday and she shared:

“She replied to me, but I haven’t seen her yet.”

Miss Universe went on to say:

“I’m not exactly sure where she is right now.”

True, we don’t know what the two ladies talked about, but it’s nice to know they’ve at least been in contact. As for the winner’s thoughts on Miz Wurtzbach not responding to Steve’s attempts to reach out to her, she shared:

“I would respond to him. I think it takes a lot for him to admit that he made a mistake, especially like that. It was on live television. And for him to consistently keep on reaching out to her ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it’s a very admirable move from him. But that’s me. I wouldn’t really know. Maybe she’s still in the process of understanding what’s going on right now. And I respect that. That’s OK. I think she will eventually.”

We’re definitely interested to see if Miss Colombia will ever respond to the beauty pageant host and bury the hatchet.

Regardless, we hope everyone can move on from this mistake and look forward to next year’s competition!
