It’s a battle!
But all good things have to come to an end eventually, and it looks like Hello‘s time owning the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list has come.
After 10 consecutive weeks in a row, the 25 singer’s hit track fell to Number two behind Justin Bieber‘s Sorry.
To be fair, Bieber’s single did spend seven consecutive weeks at the number two spot, so we’re sure the pop star is happy to finally take first!
Bieber’s most recent album, Purpose, has been quite successful so far as the 21-year-old’s other single, What Do You Mean, earned the singer his first number 1 on the Hot 100. That means two number ones from the same album!
Aside from the top two, the rest of the list includes:
1. Justin Bieber – Sorry
2. Adele – Hello
3. Justin Bieber – Love Yourself
4. Drake – Hotline Bling
5. 21 Pilots — Stressed Out
An interesting bit of trivia about JB’s Sorry is that with it’s total of eight weeks at number two before rising to number one, the song ties amount of time spent in the two-spot before reaching the top.
Another fun fact is that Bieber’s Sorry brings the word “sorry” to the Hot 100 for the fourth time ever — and the first time in the young singer’s lifetime. The last time a number one song had the word “sorry” in it was Chicago‘s Hard to Say I’m Sorry.
Do you think Justin’s hit song deserves to be in the number one spot?
