Emma Thompson Releases Poignant Statement Saying Goodbye To Dear Friend Alan Rickman
On Thursday, many celebrities took to Twitter to say their goodbyes to the incredibly talented actor Alan Rickman following the announcement of his untimely passing. As we previously reported, the English artist just lost his battle to cancer at 69-years-old.
However, one A-lister is struggling with the news of Rickman’s unfortunate death — Emma Thompson. Tragic!
Miz Thompson’s devastation is understandable since she and the BAFTA Award winner were very close friends and frequent collaborators. In fact, the twosome starred alongside each other in Love Actually, Sense and Sensibility, three HP films, and Judas Kiss.
In a recent statement, the Saving Mr. Banks actress shared:
“Alan was my friend and so this is hard to write because I have just kissed him goodbye. What I remember most in this moment of painful leave-taking is his humour, intelligence, wisdom, and kindness. The intransigence which made him the great artist he was ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ his ineffable and cynical wit, the clarity with which he saw most things, including me, and the fact that he never spared me the view.”
What a beautiful note. She continued:
“I learned a lot from him. He was the finest of actors and directors. I couldn’t wait to see what he was going to do with his face next. I consider myself hugely privileged to have worked with him so many times and to have been directed by him.”
We can only imagine what a hard time the blonde beauty is currently going through. Our thoughts are with all of Alan’s loved one’s during this trying situation.
