Sounds like Kris Jenner really came through for David Schwimmer!
The former Friends star is playing the role of Robert Kardashian, Sr., in the upcoming FX series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story — but he did NOT want to consult the Kardashians at all in preparing!
The 49-year-old actor told reporters at the Television Critics’ Association winter press tour about his decision not to consult Khlo├â┬⌐, Kim, Kourtney, or Rob for the film in part about their father:
“I wasn’t really interested or curious about talking to the kids because they were so young at the time. I was more interested in finding my way into Robert as a character, and who he was as a husband and as a father and as a man.”
But it sounds like momma Kris sure helped Schwimmer out:
“Kris was really, really generous with her time. It was really great to learn about how much a man of faith he was and how loyal and considerate he was. He was a very humble, very private person. Not at all seeking the limelight, that was inadvertent.”
Director Ryan Murphy explained a little bit more about why the Kardashian kids are just not the focus of the series in any way:
“In the 10 episodes, there are over 400 scenes that were written, and of those 400 scenes, only four or five of them involve the Kardashian children. So I think that gives you sort of a grasp on how important we felt they were to the story.”
If you’re interested in watching how it all came together, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story premieres Feb. 2 at 10 p.m. ET, only on FX!!
