Alan Rickman‘s death shocked a lot of people, whether they were personal friends of the British actor or admirers of his work.
One of the biggest fan bases affected by the 69-year-old’s passing were Harry Potter fans as Rickman played the fan favorite character Severus Snape.
After Alan finished his filming on the magical franchise, he revealed that author J.K. Rowling shared “one tiny, little, left of field piece of information” that apparently helped him realize there was more to his character than anyone thought.
This was important for the actor to know as only four books had been written at the time.
Since the Die Hard actor’s passing, HP fans have book looking for more information on their favorite Hogwarts professor and one fan took to Twitter and asked Rowling about the “piece of information” that she shared with Alan.
Luckily for us, J.K. replied to the tweet saying:
This is absolutely AH-Mazing as any Potter fan knows the significance of the word and what it means to Snape’s character and his motivation.
And just as Snape will always love Lily Evans Potter, we’ll always love Rickman!
What do you think of Rowling’s reveal?
