Yesterday, we found out that the world lost another legendary rock star with the passing of Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey.
While Eagles bandmate Don Henley paid tribute to his longtime friend, along with several other celebrities, another fellow rocker, Bob Seger, revealed that Glenn had a few different MAJOR problems dating back to November.
While we knew about the intestinal issues that ultimately lead to his untimely passing, Seger spoke with the Detroit Free Press and revealed:
“First he caught one set of pneumonia, then he caught a very virulent set of pneumonia. They were trying like hell to keep him alive. He’d been at Columbia Medical Center since November.”
How sad. The Night Moves singer went on to to say:
“[Eagles manager] Irving [Azoff] pulled every ace out of the hole. He had the eight best specialists working on Glenn. About a month ago, they had to throw up their hands.”
Bob also seemed to add on to Henley’s tribute to his friend by saying:
“He loved his family. He loved those kids. He was devoted to them. He was so much more than people knew he was.”
The Eagles’ rocker is survived by his wife, Cindy Frey, a daughter and two sons.
