Now, we know the Dirty Grandpa actor meant no offense with his note — it was just the wrong place and the wrong time.
Initially, he shared the note on both Twitter and IG:
I’m grateful for a couple things today: Martin Luther King Jr & 10 million followers on IG ├ó╦£┬¥├░┼╕┬Å┬┐├ó┼ô┼á├░┼╕┬Å┬┐#MLKDay pic.twitter.com/R373JoVspQ

We’re not surprised to report that the Hollywood hottie got a bit of flack for his comments as many of his followers took to the social media sites to criticize him (below).
gotcha but if u had 2 pick 1… “@ZacEfron: I’m grateful for a couple things today: Martin Luther King Jr & 10 million followers on IG ├ó╦£┬¥├░┼╕┬Å┬┐├ó┼ô┼á├░┼╕┬Å┬┐”

Harsh. Still, those haters kind of have a point!
Unfortunately, the hate didn’t stop there as many of those same fans were outraged that Efron didn’t make it to the High School Musical 10 year reunion.
Apparently, pre-recorded a message for Wednesday’s special is not enough for the fans since they SLAMMED the 28-year-old online (below).
HIGHlarious! We think everyone is overacting just a tad about the reunion — we mean, there is nothing you can do about it now.
Still, remind us not anger HSM buffs anytime in the near future. HA!
